Travel Log: May 28, 2006

Greetings! Chantal, Logan, and I are back in Palm Springs, California as of last Friday. We decided that the best way to finalize Mama's affairs is to come to Palm Springs for a block of time and get them all handled at once. The alternative of making many, long weekend trips in the course of the next year simply did not seem economically feasible to us.

So, here we are. We picked up clearing out the house at the point we left off earlier this month. In the past three days of fairly diligent labor, Chantal has nearly finished the room that used to be her room in the house. Once this room is complete, which should happen early tomorrow, we will move on to the bedroom that Mama called her own but rarely, if ever, slept in it.

The most marvelous thing we discovered so far on this journey is that apparently crickets develop in larval pods like many other insects. We now know this because under the boxes that were beneath the bed in the first bedroom we found many of these pods. Most were empty, but some had crickets in them. These crickets were dead, of course, but the whole experience was incredibly creepy. We will surely have many more adventures as we move through the house, so stay tuned and I will try to update this daily to let you know what is happening with us, and to mark a progress report on this, our latest journey.

Hey, Carl! I just found your e-mail from quite awhile back with this website address and am thrilled to have a way to keep up with the Flynns if you still use this method of communication! I hope all is well and that Logan is keeping you and Chantal on your toes! Blessings to all of you!
