I know, I know, you're thinking "Sheesh, first-time mom, gets excited over the silliest things. And sends an e-mail about it!". Yeah, I know, but here I am typing away. We bought potty chairs (1 for each bathroom) after we got home from our travel odyssey this summer, thinking that since Logan was the "magical" age of 2 that somehow potty training would occur. He's been interested off & on, and has sat on the chairs numerous times, in various stages of undress, but hasn't produced any results. We've just praised him each time for sitting there.
Well tonight, Carl's getting him ready for his bath and he says he wants to sit on the potty (the first he's been interested in a while). O.K., but the potty has been unused for so long we had to sponge it off while Logan patiently waited. He wanted his diaper off and everything this time. So we sit him down and wait a few moments and Carl asks if he's finished and he says yes. And behold! Urine in the bowl! (I didn't take a picture of it, but I thought about it!!). We praised him mightily and
clapped, which got him smiling and clapping. And throughout the bath he kept peering out, looking proudly at his accomplishment. Later, we let him flush his success himself.
Ah, another day in the life of Logan. :)
