After an exhilarating, exciting, and adventurous first day, Logan's second day was much more calm and easy. Well, I guess that's easy for me to say. Logan began the morning with an early feeding and then at 8:00am it was off to the doctor for circumcision! Logan did great during the procedure and then slept throughout the morning. When he was awake during the afternoon and evening, he ate well and spent time with Momma, Daddy and Grand-Mama (Chantal's mother) looking around the room. Logan remains very quiet; however, he definitely lets us know when he's uncomfortable or hungry!
Chantal also had a great day. While she felt "woozy" a couple of times throughout the day, she only passed out once rather than twice like yesterday. (EDIT: I neglected to mention in my celebratory remarks yesterday that while Logan's birth was fast, amazing, and joyful; some concern emerged on Thursday when Chantal's uterus continued to bleed after delivery. The doctors used manual techniques and medication to curb the bleeding, while we made sure Chantal ate well and kept her head above her heart to avoid passing out.) Throughout the afternoon, she gathered more strength, ate quite a bit, and seems to be on the road to full recovery. Her 5:30am (ugh) blood test will determine whether we will remain in the hospital for Friday night, or whether we will head home some time tomorrow with Logan! We are eager to be home where there aren't so many outside interruptions, but it is also absolutely amazing to have a whole staff who work with babies all of the time right there at your fingertips! Coming home will be quite a shock for us, as I am sure it is for everyone!
Throughout the day, Chantal and I thanked God together and expressed our love for one another. Logan and the whole experience is simply amazing! We also thank God for each of you! I came home tonight to an e-mail inbox stuffed with wonderful, graceful wishes from so many family and friends literally around the globe. I pray Logan has the chance to meet most if not all of you at some time in his life. God will bless Logan, and he will convey that blessing not only (with prayer) through his family, but through you as well!
